Rain came to the Kalahari a few days before we arrived and what is normally brown and dry is now green and colorful. Yesterday evening we watched lightning strikes around us. Sometimes the thunder became so loud it made you cower. When the wind came up and we could smell the rain we quickly secured camp. Mike and Hiedi’s table went flying into the bush and Jim’s tent looked like it might sail off. Most of the storm passed us by this time but when it rains here it doesn’t fool around.
