The Apartment

The Apartment was custom built over the Garagemahal over several years and is a little over 500 square ft. It is a very solid, energy efficient building with natural gas heat under the bamboo floor, lots of windows to let in light and give views in all directions. Equipped with many modern conveniences and supplies, it has a spacious, uncluttered, very clean, quiet, and user friendly feeling.

A large bedroom occupies the North end of the building with windows looking over horse pastures to the north and east. There is an abundance of cabinet, closet, and shelf space, a high quality Queen bed with fine sheets, down duvet, and reading light. Pull down Bali shades aid sleep on those bright summer nights.

The bathroom has an extra deep tub with a shower that won’t give you any trouble getting the soap out of your hair. A comfort height toilet, convenient grab bars, a custom pottery made sink, excellent lighting and lots of mirrors makes being in the bathroom an enjoyable experience. It also has a full size Maytag stackable washer/dryer.

The living Room and Kitchen share the Southern part of the building with a sliding glass door leading onto the deck. The couch folds into a queen sized futon to accommodate additional guests, A round hardwood Vietnamese table with a fold-out butterfly leaf, if needed, makes a beautiful dining environment or a good place for a project. High speed wifi reaches all areas of the apartment and deck and even down at the picnic table on the lawn if you are barbecuing.

The kitchen has lots of counter and cabinet space, equipped with all the utensils you’ll need for cooking, including a stainless steamer for the fresh garden vegetables a short walk away. There is a 24 inch 4 burner propane stove and oven, a refrigerator, full size microwave, and a nice double cast iron sink I found in the dump. The 200 square ft. Trex deck is built on 12 inch centers with hidden stainless fasteners and offers a commanding view. Wooden tables and chairs make it a great place to eat and hang out.
